Research Field
My research field is macroeconomics. Broadly speaking, macroeconomics can be divided into two areas. The first focuses on short-run business cycles, including economic fluctuations, fiscal and monetary policy, and exchange rate movements. The second concerns long-run economic growth, such as the sources of growth, the roles of technology and institutions, and misallocation. My research primarily focuses on the latter.
Research Topic
My work theoretically examines the sources of economic growth using endogenous growth models, in which education plays a central role as the ultimate engine of growth. I also study other growth mechanisms, including innovation, public infrastructure, and international trade, as well as the relationship between economic growth and volatility. While my single-authored work is primarily theoretical, I am also actively engaged in empirical research through collaborations with coauthors.
